After ban on Maggi, food officials in Bulandshahr inspect other brands of noodles

ANI / , Jun 11, 10:14 AM

  • Bulandshahr, June 11 (ANI): Following a ban on Nestle Maggi noodles, food officials in Uttar Pradesh conducted raid at a supermarket and sent samples of packaged noodles of different brands for examination. After discovering excessive lead in Maggi instant noodles last month followed by the insects in an energy drink, food officials are wary of similar products. Samples of four brands manufacturing noodles and pasta were collected for testing. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the state in April ordered a recall of a 200,000-pack batch of Maggi noodles after the noodles showed elevated levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavour enhancer. The Swiss-based company, Nestle, has challenged the test findings and stressed its snack is safe and said the sample could have been contaminated during its lengthy transit, although it gave no evidence that was the case.
