Despite witnessing 8 paise gain in yesterday's trade, the spot rupee kick-started the day with a loss of loss of 8 paise at 67.73 as against the US dollar, on month-end dollar demand from importer.
Right now, the Indian rupee is trading at the lowest point of the day at 67.93 - down 20 paise.
Meanwhile, the January currency futures has declined 14 paise at 68.15 per dollar.
Around 1,31,465 contracts have changed hands at the counter, while the open interest has increased over 6.5 percent on the NSE.
Compared to the European-currency, the Indian rupee has slipped into red, and is down 14 paise at 70.99.
