The spot rupee extended gains for the second straight day, on the back of fresh selling in US dollar ahead of year-end.
Following yesterday's 14 paise jump, the domestic currency kick-started the day higher by 15 paise at 67.95 as against the US dollar.
The spot rupee touched a high at 67.93, and is now up 12 paise at 67.98.
Meanwhile, January currency futures are also up 12 paise at 68.15 per dollar.
Around 2,29,399 contracts have changed hands at the counter on the NSE.
Compared to the European-currency, the Indian rupee, however, has shed 38 paise at 71.60 per euro.
